To keep your blood sugar under control it is totally vary person to person. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder. Today, people with diabetes can leave good abd happy life with medicine and changing life style and have a good diet plan.
Here are some tips to maintain your blood sugar levels and continue a rich and active lifestyle:
Things you must avoid to control blood sugar level:
- To improve insulin function one must cut down all artificial foods like sugar added food, junked food, drinks, packed/canned foods, diet chocolates etc.
- Junked food,White-bread, nan, pizza, burger etc should be avoided to control the function of insuline.
- Sugared based products must be avoided
- Jjuices and very sweet fruits should be avoided.
- White rice, Corn flour, fried potatoes should be avoided.
- Too much of dairy and eggs should be avoided.
- Avoid roasted product and tea/coffee as they are not good for digestion.
- Cut down too much of butter, ghee, oils etc.
Things to be done:
- Use raw sprouted peanuts.

Use Bitter gourd (karela). This vegetable contains a high dosage of ’plant insulin’. It lowers the blood-sugar levels effectively.
Have the juice of three to four karelas early morning on an empty stomach.
As a vegetable, too, it can be taken on a regular basis.
Powder the seeds of karela (measuring 1 teaspoon), mix with water and drink it.
- You can also take Methi seed as in powder basis early in the morning

Gulp a teaspoonful of these seeds with a glass of water daily.
Soak the seeds overnight. Have the water in which the seeds were soaked.
You can make a chutney with methi seeds. You can also eat them sprouted, dried and powdered, or mix them in wheat flour to make chapattis.
Methi Leaf is also has a lot of plant insulin and it can be used as part of meal. You can prepare it by just chop it and wash properly after that put a small amount of oil and put the leaf and put small amount of salt and cooke for 5-10 mins and use it in your meal.
- Jamun fruit is very good for controlling the blood sugar and improves insuling cell very much because it has a lot of plant insuline.
- You can take it direct as food and juice.
- You can also take powder of Jamun Seeds on regular basis.
- Powder the stone of the fruit and eat it – it contains glucoside, which prevents the conversion of starch into sugars.
All above discussed fruits and vegetable are available as a dried powder which can be taken twice a day.
- Garlic is also rich in potassium so it replaces the potassium lost in the urine of diabetics.
- It also has zinc, sulphur and manganese which is also beneficial in diabetics.
- So take one clove and stay healthy
Garlic is a boon for diabetics patients . It decrease cholesterol and also lowers blood sugar.
Soluble fibre, found in apples, kidney beans, oatmeal, soyabean, etc, help control diabetes.A high fiber diet is the cornerstone of treatment of most diseases and specially insulin related disorders. An interesting finding is that during the world war when all British nationals were eating whole wheat flour, the incidence of diabetes fell by 50%! One can eat whole wheat porridge, whole wheat bread and oats as it contains soluble fiber which is very good for diabetes, cholesterol and obesity. Whole-grains are also rich in chromium which is mostly deficient in diabetics.
- Soya bean is excellent for polycystic ovary and diabetics due to lecithins and can be eaten as a mixed atta (soya atta), tofu, tempeh, miso soup, nuggets, granules etc.
- Potassium is found in vegetable (try to eat sprouted peanuts) so eat fresh vegetable.
Diabetes is often associated with conditions like heart disease, diabetic retinopathy, immune deficiency and kidney disease.
